Meet Shirin Nikaein,
Senior Economist
Shirin is an economist with over ten years of work experience with international organizations, government agencies, and the private sector in countries across Latin America, North America, sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East.
Shirin worked at the International Monetary Fund providing technical assistance to countries in debt distress, modelling economic and financial policies, and participating in program and surveillance missions to provide recommendations on economic policies consistent with strong and sustainable poverty reduction and inclusive growth objectives. Her experience also includes designing and implementing development projects at the Ministry of Social Development in Mexico and, most recently, managing a global multi-asset endowment fund in the Middle East.
Shirin holds a Master's degree in International and Development Economics from Yale University and a Bachelor's in Finance from ITESM Mexico.
