A more equitable health system

Summary

Equity Economics worked with The McKell Institute to deliver a report that explores the role complimentary medicines could play in achieving greater equity in the Australian healthcare system.

Through the targeted provision of clinically tested complimentary medicines for certain patients, such as vitamins for pregnant women, better health outcomes can be achieved that have the potential to reduce healthcare costs in the long run.

The report combines cost benefit analysis and costings of certain complimentary medicines where there is a strong, clinical evidence base of effectiveness.

The report received television coverage on Seven News and has been widely referred to in related industries.
