Meet Dr Kristy Jones,
Senior Economist
Kristy is a senior economist/behavioural economist who alongside robust economic analysis, brings an understanding of human behaviour that is critical to the development and communication of better and more effective policy and programs
Early in her career she worked in international development as an AYAD and with the Australian Indonesian Partnership for Economic Government, she also held economist roles in some of Australia’s top economic consultancies. As a senior economist/behavioural economist in the Australian union movement (ACTU and CFMEU) she has been involved in numerous successful campaigns and developed key policy positions across a range of social and economic issues. Most recently, she has worked as a senior behavioural scientist at one of Australia’s top behavioural science firms developing behavioural interventions that achieve not only commercial, but also customer and social outcomes
Kristy holds a PhD in Economics (Behavioural), Masters and Honors Degrees in Commerce (Economics) as well Bachelor Degrees in Commerce (Economics and Finance) and Science. She is passionate about using economics to empower ordinary and vulnerable people to be part of policy conversations, rather than to confuse or stifle their voices.
